Last match of the season, at home and still without a win on our new alley!

First roll we started ok, picked up through the middle and scorched to the end giving us a blistering 67! They responded  with a dissapointing 53.

Second roll we started really well, kept up the hot pace through mid-roll and dropped a little to the end but still finishing with a superb 70! They managed a normally decent 57 this time.

Third roll was a poor start, continuing slack through mid-roll and little improvement to the end gave us a surprisingly pathetic 49. They struck back with a welcome 64.

Fourth roll we had another shaky start, then woke up through mid-roll and kept pace to the finish giving us another burning 67! They came back with a boring 55.

Fifth and final roll of the season and the starters pooped out, picked up somewhat through the middle and kept improving to the end to give us a very decent 60 and a grand total of 313! They managed to scrape a middling 56 giving them a grand total of 285 and us our first win on our new alley on the last game of the season. Result!

Last away match of the season, let’s put some effort in!

First roll they set the pace with a decent 59. We started below par, picked up through the middle then let it slip to the end leaving us with a middling 55.

Second roll they hit another tidy 59. We started well this time, burned through mid-roll and apart from Radar’s duck made decent progress to the end giving us an impressive 65.

Third roll they woke up and hit an welcome 61. We staretd quite well, stumbled a bit through the middle and fell over at the end leaving us with an average 55.

Fourth roll they hit a blinding 70! We started well enough again, improved somewhat through mid-roll but let down yet again by the tail enders to give us a normally tidy 59.

Fifth and final roll they lost momentum and only managed a poor 53 giving them a grand total of 302. With one trip we started off on the right track, showed promise through the middle and a marked improvement from the end players gave us a great 64, but with a grand total of 300 we lost what was a very close match.

Coming close to the end of the season now and still yet to win a game on our home alley.

First roll we started quite well, slipped through the middle and stumbled to the end leaving us with a less than welcome 54. They set the pace with a decent 59.

Second roll we started  quite well again, almost fell over mid-roll but picked up towards the tail end to leave us with a poor 52. They responded with another adequate 57.

Third roll was a mixed start with a welcome 9 from Clive! kept up the pressure through the middle and a scorching finish gave us an impressive 64. They came back with an almost as impressive 61, keeping us on our toes.

Fourth roll we started badly, burned through mid-roll and then coasted to the end to leave us with a tidy 57. They hit a superb 65 in response, extending their lead even further.

Fifth roll was very mixed but the middle players were more consistent, which was continued to the end leaving us with an average 56 and a grand total of 283. They could only manage a disappointing 52 in response but it was enough to win the match with a grand total of 294.

Well it’s about time I got this lot updated so this is the first of 4 belated match reports.

We went into this match a man short so have our work cut out if we’re going to avoid defeat.

First roll they hit a mediocre 53. We started slow, picked up a little through the middle and held to the end to give us a poor 52.

Second roll the didn’t improve much with a disappointing score of 54. We started ok this time, slipped slightly mid-roll and kept pressure to the end matching their 54.

Third roll they repeated their consistency with another less than satisfactory 54. We started ok again, kept pace through the middle and a decent finish gave us the edge with a decent (for 11 men) 56.

Fourth roll they took over with a blistering 66! We started poorly this time, didn’t learn through mid-roll and only a decent finish could save us from going below a less than impressive 50.

Fifth and final roll they hit yet another boring 54 giving them a grand total of 281. We started below par, picked up a little through the middle and finished quite well but only managing an inadequate 52 and a grand total of 264. Not bad for 11 men but not enough to win the match.

Second new home match and we now have plastic pins!

First roll started ok, dipped a bit in the middle and picked up to the end leaving us with an average 56. They hit an impressive 62, setting the pace.

Second roll we didn’t start so well, including a duck from Gareth, improved through the mid-roll and kept it going slow paced to the end leaving us with an awful 47. They hit a decent 56, building their lead.

Third roll began terribly, again picked up though the middle and dropped off slightly to the finish giving us another pathetic 47. They hit a mediocre 53, but more than enought to extend their lead.

Fourth roll was much better to start, apart from Gareth’s 1, stumbled through mid-roll with another 1 from Peter and with the exception of Mr. O’s 8 collapsed at the end leaving us with a disappointing 54. They hit a poorer 51, allowing us to take this roll.

Fifth roll had a good 8 from Daddy Porter then fell apart, picked up through the middle and kept pace to the end making an upsetting 53 and a grand total of 257. They hit a comfortable 55 giving them a grand total of 275 and the match.

This is our last match of the season not on a Monday.

First roll they hit a mediocre 51. We started poorly, improved slightly through the middle and kept pace to the end managing a slightly better 53.

Second roll they scored an impressive 68! We started quite badly again, picked up through mid-roll and kept steady to the end giving us a saving grace of 61.

Third roll they kept the pressure on with another tidy score of 59. We started well for a change, then collapsed in the middle with a duck from Peter, and a mostly decent finish left us with a struggling 53.

Fourth roll they keep the heat on with with another hot 61. We started well, kept pace through mid-roll and also through to the end, giving us a matching tidy 61.

Fifth roll they hit an ok 56 giving them a grand total of 295, leaving us with a towering 68 to win. We started well, stormed through the middle and scorched through to the end including a 9 from Mr. Oliver to give us a blistering 72 and the match!

Our first match on our new alley and most of the team recovering from the weekend. Should be intresting.

First roll started bad, continued just as bad through the middle and failed to improve to the end leaving us with a poor 48. They showed us how to play by hitting an impressive 61!

Second roll started equally as bad as the first, picked up slightly mid-roll but collapsed at the tail-end leaving us with another disappointing 48. They slipped up this roll only managing a terrible 47.

Third roll was a roller coaster and included a duck from our weekend’s highest scorer! The middlers struggled through and another collapse at the end left us with a chronic 45. They improved from last roll with an acceptable 56.

Fourth roll we started ok apart from Gareth’s duck, improved greatly mid-roll and kept some pace to the end leaving us with a welcome 57. They slipped again with a lowly 48.

Fifth roll we started well, kept up pace through the middle but slipped to the end giving us an average 55 and a grand total of 253. They hit a middling 54 giving them a grand total of 266 and the match. One year we’re going to break our post tour jinx but not this year

Last match before the Shoot Out weekend and a week where 42 becomes important

First roll they hit a boring 52. We started fairly well,  showed promise through the middle then a poor tail end let us down to leave us with a mediocre 53.

Second roll they improved with a decent 57. We started quite well again, stayed steady through mid-roll then lost our grip again through to the end giving us another disappointing roll of 54.

Third roll they kept pace with a reasonable 56. We started badly this time, picked up a bit through the middle and fed the tail enders drugs to improve, but still only give us a poor 52.
Fouth roll they fell apart with a poor 49. We started ok, stormed the mid-roll and kept a good pace right to the anchor, who only managed a 1, giving us a tidy 58.

Fifth roll they completed their collapse with a pathetic 46 giving them a grand total of 260. We started well, kept a tidy pace through the middle and powered through to the finish giving us an impressive 62 and a grand total of 279, taking the match.

Our last match at The Grange. Next home match will be at our new venue The Lyndon.

A mixed bag to start the first roll, continuing much the same through the middle and not changing much to the end giving us a reasonable 57. They countered with a slightly better 58.

Second roll had a poor start, didn’t improve mid-roll but scorched through the tail end to give us a welcome 60. They returned a decent enough 59.

Third roll was fairly average to start, slowed a bit through the middle and trundled through to the end giving us a boring 53. They hit an impressive 63 giving them a 10 point lead!

Fourth roll started abismally, greatly improved mid-roll and cruised to the finish giving us a lucky 55. They slipped badly with a disastrous 46, giving back most of their lead.

Fifth roll had a tidy start with a middling performance from the centres and a powerful tail end gave us a respectable 59 and a grand total of 282. They fought well but only managed a mediocre 53 giving a grand total of 279. Close match!

Your roving reporter returned for this match but left the report until later due to the backlog of other reports!

First roll they hit an amazing 61. We started quite well, hiccupped through the middle then caught balance again to the end leaving us with an average 56.

Second roll they kept the pressure on with a spectacular 64. With one little trip we started quite well, fell foul through mid-roll but improved to the end giving us a normally useful 58.

Third roll they hit another impressive roll of 60. We started badly, picked up through the middle and petered off to the end giving us a disappointing 54.

Fourth roll they slipped below the 60 (just) with a decent 59. We started really badly with a duck from Norman, picked up through mid-roll but failed to spark through the tail end leaving us with a maddening 53.

Fifth roll they proved they were serios with a cracking 65, giving themm a grand total of 309! We started quite well, slipped up through the middle and only a slight improvement to the end gave us another poor 54 and a grand losing total of 277.
